Kutaniyaki ware has a unique aesthetic that is still valuable hundreds of years later.
Ginsai is a technique in which silver foil is applied and then glazed over.
Transparent glaze or Kutani five-color glaze is used so that the silver foil can be seen through the glaze.
By combining two or more colors of glaze through ginsai, it is possible to create gradients and achieve a richer color expression.
Kutani ware is a masterpiece of artists' techniques.
